One guy actually tried to get the wind going again, but he died in attempt. What are you doing here then? We call this place Windy valley, but the wind guardian hasn't been seen here in the ages. Prof Giro being pushed by ceres to a different timeline then got amnesia doesn't make sense, cause time travelling doesn't make you amnesiac but a reset of time does. Also about Kuro being trapped after the final battle and become the old man in wind valley doesn't make sense again.Remember when you first talk to him in the wind valley (before giving Sid the prototype). Without offense I think this is more logically correct cause the only reason why Kuro and Ceres will have amnesia is because the project got damage and do the reset. Also his deck is composed of magi and guardians from the ancient civilization. Giro cause the old man is the npc that will give you the Prof Giro card. Also I strongly believe that the old man is Prof. Because the reset happens there after the Final battle. I think that explains why both of them got amnesia. The one Finrost found in Spelbuk Forest was the Kuro from the Final battle with Ceres. Giro, he was sent to anomaly and grow old there. It is because when Finrost found Kuro he doesn't wear his mask and his magi robe. Giro can't be the one that is transported to Spelbuk Forest. There are arguments for and against that, though. It's possible that Fina's Sid's mother, since she winds up in Giro's lab in the past. I think it's pretty well accepted that Giro is Sid's father. He winds up escaping the anomaly eventually and moves to windy valley which explains why he recognizes you and recognizes that time has changed. Some believe the old man in the anomaly is Kuro, trapped there following the fight with Ceres. Neither Velvet nor Menos were with the party the first time you meet Ceres, so it's not really surprising that they didn't recognize her as their child. Velvet and Menos probably had no idea that their kid would wind up being Ceres, and they presumably are killed when Ceres is taken away at a young age (nice of their killers to bury them on that island, I guess). The prevailing view is that Giro is probably pre-amnesia Kuro, and he loses his memory when Ceres pushes him into the portal that leads to spelbuk forest. I think the easiest way to explain everything is to realize that the people reset when time resets as well. There's another thread that tries to analyze stuff. So please anyone with clearer understanding of story in the game, I need explanations. My head hurts every time I tried to understand it. I've got this theory after I've won from him the Professor Giro Card. Father of Sid who just vanished after Ceres sent him into the portal. I'm just guessing here, but I think he is Giro. Why did they do that? Lastly the old man in Anomaly. Also, Velvet and Menos just decided to get a child even though they know she will become Ceres later on. Then why the heck is he in the past with Fina. What happened in the credits where Fina just met Kuro in the past? After the final battle, Kuro is supposed to be in the Spelbuk Forest where Finrost found him. And after the final battle both Kuro and Ceres loses their memories in order for time to keep looping. The only thing I understand is that time keeps looping after the final battle. Anyone out there whose willingly explain the story? I just ended the game at 100% yesterday and can't fully understand the conclusion.

As a result, the eyes are then on the side which faces up. As an adult, a flounder changes its habits and camouflages itself by lying on the bottom of the ocean floor as protection against predators. One eye migrates to the other side of the body as a process of metamorphosis as it grows from larval to juvenile stage. They are not pretty to look at but boy are they tasty!ĭid You Know?In its life cycle, an adult flounder has two eyes situated on one side of its head, while at hatching one eye is located on each side of its brain. Our last step before we can test our code is to add our last three functions into the update function. The final step is to set the target position to zero to reset for the next frame’s input. With the horizontal velocity lerping it’s way towards zero, we then add to the transform’s position a value equal to the horizontal velocity multiplied by time delta time. Note rather than using our acceleration to control the rate of the slow down, I’ve used a different variable (damping) to allow separate control. To do this we want to lerp our horizontal velocity (calculated constantly by the previous function) down to zero. If the player is not trying to get the camera to move we want the camera to smoothly come to a stop. While they might look different these two lines of code are closely related to the Kinematic equations you may have learned in high school physics. We then add to the transform’s position an amount equal to the target position multiplied by the current camera speed and time delta time. We then normalize the resulting vector to keep a uniform length so that the speed will be constant even if multiple keys are pressed (up and right for example). This ensures that the movement is in the horizontal plane and relative to the camera. We’ll take the x component of the input and multiply it by the Camera Right function and add that to the y component of the input multiplied by the Camera Forward function. In order to translate the input into the motion we want we need to be a bit careful. This function polls the Camera Movement action to then set the target position. The next function is the poorly named Get Keyboard Movement function. This ensures we are calculating the velocity for the frame and not from the start. After calculating the velocity we update the value of the last position for the next frame. Nothing too special in the function other than once again squashing the y dimension of the velocity to zero. It feels a bit clumsy, but since I’m not using a rigidbody and I want the camera to smoothly speed up and slow down I need a way to calculate and track the velocity (in the horizontal plane). I'll probably just figure out a way to not have 3D objects in the canvas to begin with.Admittedly I don’t love the next function. Is there a way around this? I saw another thread suggesting the use of render textures or stencils, which is far too complicated a solution in this context. But this is a non-starter.when you turn a camera into an overlay, you lose the ability to set a viewport rect for it. I also thought about making a new base camera to hold both old and new cameras. Other URP docs suggest setting the canvas camera to an overlay, but in my situation, none of my base cameras are appropriate, because they are restricted to specific parts of the viewport. I would've expected it to render directly over the existing contents of the screen. It's as if the camera is rendering to its very own screen-sized render texture, then blitting the whole thing over the screen buffer. When configured as a base camera with output texture set to "None", the canvas camera seems to clobber everything in the screen buffer, even if I set its skybox setting to "Uninitialized". To do the latter, I need to add another camera. On top of this, I'd like to add a canvas that renders 3D objects. I've got multiple base cameras rendering into different parts of the viewport. The hole or tear in this outer layer, called the dura mater, allows some of the fluid to escape. This protective cushion circulates within the ventricular system and the subarachnoid space around the brain and the spinal cord, which helps to provide the buoyancy to counteract various shear and stress encountered during the movement of the skull and vertebral column. When there is a hole or tear in the outermost layer, a CSF leak occurs. The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) acts as a nourishing and protective layer surrounding the central nervous system. There are three layers that surround the spinal cord and brain. Most (80%) of the protein in the CSF is derived from the blood, with only 20% from local synthesis within the CNS itself. fluid flow imaging by using phase-contrast MR techMartin RF, Eldrup-Jorgensen J. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) surrounds the brain and spinal cord and provides a cushion to protect them from injury. It may confirm the hypothesis that CSF flow and slow-wave activity both help flush toxic, memory-impairing proteins from the brain. The CSF metabolome is a live online database of the chemical content of the cerebrospinal fluid 6. A new study from Boston University is the first to illustrate that the brain’s cerebrospinal fluid pulses during sleep, and that these motions are closely tied with brain wave activity and blood flow. Normal volume ranges differ depending on the source but are generally in the 150-250 mL range with approximately 700 mL produced daily, hence the entire CSF volume is replaced 3-4 times per day. Two-way transport of water and solutes across the blood-brain barrier and also between the CSF and interstitium at cellular membranes To-and-fro: due to pulsatile flow in the cerebral arteries In some people with transverse myelitis, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) may have abnormally high numbers of white blood cells or immune system proteins that indicate inflammation. The mechanisms producing the circulation of CSF is complex, and is thought to be due to a combination of 5:īulk flow: pressure gradient between choroid plexus and arachnoid granulations Lumbar puncture (spinal tap) uses a needle to draw a small amount of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the protective fluid that surrounds your spinal cord and brain. Up to 15% of CSF drains into the lymphatics within the perineural spaces of the cranial and spinal nerves 5. The majority of CSF is absorbed into the venous system by the arachnoid villi, which protrude into the dural venous system around the brain, particularly the superior sagittal sinus and transverse sinuses. Physiology ProductionĬerebrospinal fluid is produced by the epithelium of the choroid plexus within the ventricular system and flows in the direction from the lateral ventricles to the third ventricle, then fourth ventricle and then around the brain and spinal cord. A lumbar puncture is a test that collects a sample of CSF from the lower back to diagnose conditions that affect the central nervous system (CNS). Cerebrospinal fluid ( CSF) is the clear liquid that surrounds and bathes the brain and spinal cord. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a clear liquid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord.
In the world of Paw Patrol, good characters are always nice and bad characters are always naughty, and the only source of conflict comes from interactions between the two. In fact, every single character in the titular team has the exact same personality the pups differ in appearance and theme, but I couldn’t name a single character trait that describes any of them, other than “helpful.” In contrast, Paw Patrol never shows Ryder and his team of pups disagreeing about anything, ever. Really, it’s a melodramatic soap opera starring sentient trains.Īnd to be honest, I really like that about Thomas, because it (presumably) teaches children that in the real world, people have a great deal of trouble getting along and reaching a common goal, because their personalities and values are constantly coming into conflict with one another, despite their best intentions. The most amusing thing about Thomas and Friends is the title, because the trains all kind of hate each other, and are constantly gossiping and arguing, their personal conflicts fueling the plot of most episodes. It’s the small-scale stuff that’s important, rather than the big picture.īut when it comes to character interactions, Paw Patrol presents a strange, distorted view of the world. There’s already been great articles written about the dystopian undercurrent of Thomas and Friends.īut then, I lightened up, and came to the conclusion that while overthinking children’s media is fun, children are (most likely) absorbing the interactions between characters, rather than the insidious implications of the plot, or setting. The series Thomas and Friends goes out of its way to push the notion that every individual should dedicate themselves to their labor, to obey the demands of their corporate overlords, to a rather unhealthy degree. Before my eldest became enamored with Paw Patrol, he was obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine, and I used to find Thomas’ fixation on being a “really useful engine” somewhat sinister. And the hops themselves aren’t overbearing or overwhelming.īottom line: It’s a great/lighter alternative to other NA beers, and is spritzy and refreshing for hot weather. I’ve been drinking through the 12-pack and I’ve been finding it fills a subtle space in the non-alcoholic realm where it’s got just enough hops to trip your beerometer, but avoids any of the heaviness of NA beers or similar. It’s refreshing, but has a light lingering bitterness. There’s a not-quite-vegetal note that’s green and herbal, like chewing on a fresh hop cone with a hint of raw tobacco and some bitter chard. The flavor is mild and pleasant though again, with a bit of a bitter tonic quality which is where the appeal lies, I think. Aroma of raw hops, bitter, similar to a bitter tea, with whiffs of fruit (orange, passion fruit) there’s a bit of a tonic quality with a bit of woody character. My notes: Like carbonated water or seltzer, with an extremely pale yellow color. Opening with an aroma of citrus and tropical fruit, the palate is hit with notes of citrus fruit and grassy herbal flavors and finishes with a bit of bitter and sweet. No malt, no calories, no alcohol and an extra kick of hop-tastic goodness. To call it a brew day would be sort of laughable considering how easy it was, but seeing as I made this hop water while mashing a different beer, I’m comfortable with. Here’s the description culled from the page:ĭouble dry hopped with Citra® hops, Hoplark 0.0 Citra is a flavor bomb of deliciousness. 2.5 mL Lactic Acid (88) 40 g Amarillo Hops. The Hop Water products contain only carbonated water and hops the 0.0 products contain carbonated water, hops, and citric acid and the Teas contain all three of those ingredients plus various teas and herbs.Ġ.0 Citra contains no alcohol and zero calories, and advertised as caffeine-free, vegan, non-GMO, and keto friendly. The company’s “0.0” line is differentiated a bit from its Hop Tea and regular Hop Water product lines, mainly (from what I can determine) by ingredients. There’s no fermentation or even boiling involved the process involves dry hopping for all of the products. So when Hoplark reached out with samples of its new Hoplark 0.0 Citra sparkling hop water, I was definitely interested in trying it.īased out of Boulder, Colorado, Hoplark offers three main product lines, all alcohol-free beverages that start with carbonated water and plenty of hops. The first hop water I’ve reviewed was back in February with Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher Hop Water, and despite initial skepticism I found it pleasantly refreshing. When it comes to Hoplark 0.0, the company claims they have a proprietary process to achieve flavor sans all the things you’d normally love in your brew like. Hot on the heels of non-alcoholic beer, the next frontier seems to be NA hop water, at least based on the marketing and samples I’ve been receiving lately. Hoplark, based in Boulder, CO, launched in 2018 and already has a number of hop-forward non-alcoholic beverages under its belt, including a tea and, yes, hop-brewed sparkling water.
